CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - TWO NEW ZINES!
SWOU is very excited to announce a call-out for submissions to TWO new zines being put together by some of our members.
Sex Workers Speak On Abuse: “Too often we’re told as workers that we need to tell our sad stories about the abuses that happen to us during work. Then this is used against us to take away our rights as workers, and argue that that’s why prostitution should be abolished. Or we get the message that we shouldn’t talk about any prior abuse we’ve experienced, because people will use that to argue that that’s why we ended up doing sex work.”
Femme Sex Worker Zine: “No matter what kind of sex work you do/have done or what your gender is: if you profit (/ed) from your own erotic labour, AND femme AND sex worker are parts of your identity, you are welcome to submit something.”
Each link contains information about the sort of submissions they’re looking for, and also how to submit work. Get involved!

New York City Feminist Zine Fest 2014
Do you like zines? How about feminism? Because second annual NYC Feminist Zine Fest is coming up! Mark your calenders for March 1st at 1-6pm. This time we will be at Barnard College in uptown Manhattan, 3009 Broadway in the James Room on the 4th floor of Barnard Hall.
We will be opening the call for tablers very soon, so if you’re a zinester or artist interested in sharing your work, keep an eye on our website (http://feministzinefestnyc.wordpress.com/) for updates. We also need volunteers to help the day run smoothly so if you think that sounds like you (or you have questions in general), email us at email@example.com!
APPLICATIONS FOR WORKSHOPS AND TABLES ARE NOW LIVE! Sign up before January 31st, and RSVP to the FB event!
