i’m off to stockholm for a long weekend on thursday, so i might not actually get to go to the post office for over a week (as i won’t have a day off) but we’ll see, if there’s loads of orders, i might be able to get carl to go there for me on his day off or something. but i thought i’d warn ya. xxX
Catilin (whynotshesaid) shares her thoughts on that Time article. I find the article laughable. The underground press exists and flourishes without mainstream attention, so who cares? This is something Jenna (sassyfrasscircus) and I discuss - the idea of what is underground? is underground desirable? who is an insider? who is an outsider? when does the underground become mainstream? what about mainstream publications adopting underground aesthetics and techniques (something Anne Elizabeth Moore has written about in her book Unmarketable: Brandalism, Copyfighting, Mocketing, and the Erosion of Integrity), what about the fact that our underground communities sometimes replicate and mimic mainstream ideas (that were purport to oppose)?
…and yeah, it is still funny slamming down the phone (in the age of cell phones, this means literally slamming the phone down on something) in some NYC db’s ear when he says he wants to be my agent.
